Mentoring & work experience

Our involvement with students doesn’t end with the conclusion of the
workshop or programme. Often we are contacted by participants seeking
advice or guidance about careers in music, our opinions on new songs or
for an opportunity to sit in on a recording session or gig.

This has led to an unofficial “mentoring” programme with students. We
have helped several former workshop participants in the past to realise
their goal of a career in music and will continue to do so in the
future.Often these students have also progressed from participant to
tutor and in the process ensuring that the knowledge is continually
transferred

Previous mentored students include Liz Seaver (singer / songwriter and
workshop tutor), Philip Magee (house sound engineer at Chili Studios) and Colin
Rogers (full time live sound engineer). This list doesn’t include those
who have gone on to form bands or continually write songs as a result of
taking part in a Songschool workshop. Please feel free to view the bebo
or myspace pages for personal accounts.

*Work Experience*
We take students for work experience subject to our availability. In
order to ensure the best experience for the student we will only allow
one student per week. For more details or to take part please email
